The American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio is a non-profit trade association comprised of firms that provide a wide array of engineering and other professional services for all types of construction and environmental improvement projects. ACEC Ohio member companies provide services to local, state and federal government agencies, as well as commercial and industrial clients.
The mission of ACEC Ohio is to enhance the economic and regulatory climate for private engineering companies and assist member companies in improving their business management practices so that they may provide high-quality professional services to their clients.
Some of the ways in which the Council achieves that mission are by:
- Providing educational seminars and workshops that help engineering company owners and managers run their businesses more efficiently and profitably;
- Pursuing an aggressive government affairs program that promotes and defends the interests of engineering companies in the Ohio General Assembly;
- Sponsoring money-saving benefit programs that give member companies a competitive advantage;
- Conducting public relations programs that generate valuable recognition for the industry by highlighting the ingenuity and value of the services provided by Ohio's engineering companies.
The governance of the organization is prescribed in the Council's Bylaws. The Council's operational goals and objectives are established annually by the ACEC Ohio Board of Directors when it adopts the Strategic Plan.
