Prairie Cloudware Presents Digital Payments Guardian at Finovate Spring

Digital payments platform allows financial institutions to directly provide consumers with omnichannel digital payments services.

OMAHA, May 5, 2015 – Prairie Cloudware, an innovator in omnichannel digital payments services, announced that it will present Digital Payments Guardian™ at FinovateSpring in San Jose, Calif. on May 12, 2015. Digital Payments Guardian is accessible through a financial institution’s digital banking channel and functions like a digital vault.  Consumers can configure it to give them access to a variety of payments sources including current accounts as well as debit, credit, store, loyalty and gift cards. These payment sources can then be used safely and simply online or in-store using any device type including mobile phones, tablets and PC’s.

“Digital Payments Guardian arms banks and credit unions in the battle for control over digital payments,” said Doug Parr, chief revenue office of Prairie Cloudware. “The platform enables them to provide customers and members with digital payment services that offer more choice, convenience and security.  It extends and deepens the relationship financial institutions have with consumers by offering value-added services during the purchase cycle such as balances, transaction history, overdraft alerts, coupons and offers.”

Customers and members can access the services provided by Digital Payments Guardian through their institution’s digital banking service.  The services include a pre-provisioned digital payments vault that can be activated then paired with a mobile wallet or other application for shopping online or in-store using any digital device. The consumer’s information is safe, as activation takes place within the financial institution’s secure environment and tokenization is utilized to protect the payment credentials. Digital Payments Guardian is designed to accommodate any type of payment instrument, and the customer may easily add payment sources to it.

“With the increasing number of data breaches that have come to light in the past few years, consumers are concerned now more than ever with keeping personal information, especially financial information, secure,” Parr said. “Consumers have repeatedly indicated that they would prefer financial institutions to provide them with simpler, safer ways to pay using their digital devices.  Banks and credit unions have a lot to gain in providing this service.  Some industry analysts indicate directly facilitating these services for a consumer could earn an institution between $300 - $600 per account annually.”

Prairie Cloudware’s Digital Payments Guardian helps financial institutions in the battle for control of digital payments, enabling them to protect an important source of current and future income while enhancing the security and convenience of the customer experience. By providing a digital payments service that works on all devices, accommodates all payment types and can be used online or in-store, Prairie Cloudware offers financial institutions a way to enhance their role as a trusted provider of payment services and prevent other organizations from marginalizing their value to the consumer.
