Wade Arnold, founder and CEO

Wade Arnold is founder and CEO of Banno, a provider of custom-branded mobile applications, websites and personalized payment card services to financial institutions. He is responsible for the company’s overall strategic planning and direction, which is focused on helping financial institutions stimulate growth and retain business through the strategic use of Web-based and mobile tools. Arnold oversees Banno’s operations, product development and creative design to ensure profitability and alignment with customers’ needs.

Arnold has served as CEO since the company’s inception in 2008. He founded Banno as a Web marketing and consulting firm that quickly attracted several medium- to enterprise-class companies. After identifying an opportunity to help financial institutions restructure the consumer online and mobile experience, Arnold spearheaded the transition of Banno from its financial website strategy origins. The company now provides more than 300 financial institutions with progressive, non-template driven and mobile-enabled websites as well as offers custom-branded mobile applications and Web/mobile personalized payment card services.

 In 2011, Arnold was selected to present the company’s latest mobile offering, Grip, at FinovateFall. The following year at FinovateFall 2012, Grip and Arnold returned to the stage to show off “Help Me Decide,” a feature that shows the effect that making a purchase has on an individual’s finances.

 Outside of work, Arnold spends his time involved in community development. As a board member of the Greater Cedar Valley Alliance and an Executive Board Member of the Technology Association of Iowa, Arnold focuses his energy into assisting fellow entrepreneurs and growing the startup culture throughout Iowa. Arnold is also involved in moving the financial technology space forward through his board position and active membership in the Association for Financial Technology (AFT).

 

Previously, Arnold was an Adobe Enterprise Evangelist and the lead developer of AMFPHP and Zend Amf, both open source implementations of Flash Remoting. His knowledge of real time, scalable software architecture has earned him numerous speaking engagements at international software development conferences including Adobe Max, RIA Wall Street, Zend Con, Flex Camp and Flash In The City. In 2008, Arnold co-authored “The Essential Guide to Open Source Flash.”

 Arnold earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science emphasizing intelligent systems from the University of Northern Iowa. He also has an MBA from the University of Iowa. Arnold recently completed the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
