Membership
Joining our Family of Faith
There are a number of ways you may become an active member of Bethel UMC. Below is a listing of membership opportunities with an explanation of each.
NEW MEMBER CLASS is a required set of ten classes that provides an excellent introduction to our church and is designed to clearly explain who and what our church is about. These sessions will cover what it means to be a Methodist while guiding you in an important step in your relationship with Christ. These classes are typically scheduled TWICE a year, in the Fall and in early Spring. Reception of members occurs during Sunday morning worship.
We extend to you a warm welcome to join us!
To enroll in Membership Classes at Bethel United Methodist Church, contact Pastor Mike Pratt at pastormike@mybethel.org or through the church office at 614-451-2085.
- CONFESSION OF FAITH is when one confesses faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and is the initial step into membership in the church.
- REAFFIRMATION OF FAITH is one’s renewing of the initial confession of faith after a period of inactivity or not being a part of a church membership roll.
- TRANSFER OF MEMBERSHIP is from another Methodist church or a Christian church of another denomination. We recognize Baptism from all other Christian churches.
Call or email Pastor Mike Pratt with any questions you might have regarding joining us.
