CSCA 2015 Convention - Communication Theory Interest Group

Dear Communication Theory Interest Group Members –

I hope this message finds you well and acclimated in your Spring '15 semesters and quarters.  I'm ready for less cold, some serious panels, and making more great memories in Madison!  We are only a couple of months away from the 2015 conference and registration is now open. Personally, Madison is one of my favorite cities we visit as members of CSCA.

I want to personally invite you to a number of panels.

If you have ever wondered about how impactful CSCA and CTIG can be in your academic career, please come to see  Building Beyond New Media: Discourse and Critique in a Polymediated Age on Saturday at 11:00 am-12:15pm. This panel will discuss the productive conversations that led to the book Beyond New Media, born out of a convergence of scholars fostered by CSCA. In order to produce this book, the panelists spent the past three conferences collaborating, arguing, interrogating, and becoming friends during panels, social events, and discussions at this very conference. This panel examines the material and the process that began as a panel, grew into a series of conversations, and led to a book.

Of course we have the following panels which I encourage you to attend:

Friday 9:45am-10:45am: Top Papers in Communication Theory, which is full of some of the best minds currently theorizing in our field.

Friday 11:00am-12:15pm: CTIG Business Meeting, where we will have elections and hand out the very first Em Griffin Top Paper Award.

We have a lot of other panels exploiting everything from polymedia, pop culture, interpersonal communication, and other fantastic papers.

Please follow this link to register: http://www.csca-net.org/aws/CSCA/pt/sp/convention_reg

You can save money by registering early, and the ability to sign up for special events pre-conference sessions that have limited space.  You will also find the hotel information on the conference site. As the conference hotel is likely to fill up quickly, I encourage you make your reservations now to guarantee the conference rate.

I look forward to seeing you in Madison!

Cheers!
