Communication Studies New Editor Announcement

Communication Studies New Editor Announcement

On behalf of the Central States Communication Association Executive Committee, I am extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Kenneth A. Lachlan has been named the 22nd editor of Communication Studies. A longtime, active member of association, Dr. Lachlan is presently an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Connecticut. He has served on the editorial boards of Communication Quarterly, Communication Research Reports, Communication Studies, and Media Psychology, as well as serving as guest reviewer for numerous other journals. In addition to his extensive editorial experience, he is also a prolific author, recognized in a recent citation analysis as ranking in the top 1% of published scholars in communication journals between 2007 and 2011.

The Executive Committee and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the current editor, Dr. Robert S. Littlefield, for his outstanding contributions to the journal. Under Dr. Littlefield’s leadership, Communication Studies has undergone tremendous development, and its prestige and impact on the discipline have continued to flourish.

Dr. Littlefield will remain editor of the journal through the end of 2015. As the editorial transition takes place, any submissions to Communication Studies received from this point forward will be managed by Dr. Lachlan for consideration beginning with his inaugural issue to be published in early 2016. For information about the journal and submission details, please visit the association’s website: www.csca-net.org.
