CSCA - 2012 Convention - Community College IG Reminders
Hello, colleagues!
In just a few days, we will be gathering in Cleveland for the 2012 Central States Communication Association annual convention. It hardly seems as though it has already been a year since we last met! This years convention should be a great experience, with social events and a reception at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to go along with our normal informative presentations.
Speaking of presentations, let me take a moment and review the presentations that are being sponsored by the Community College Interest Group at this years convention. If possible, please take the time to attend these sessions, both to support the speakers and panelists who have worked to provide quality programming as well as to support the Community College Interest Group. Your visible and vocal support for our interest group is noticed and appreciated. More details about each of these presentations will be available through the convention program.

Next, we will be having the Community College Interest Group business meeting on Friday, March 30 at 9:30 am in the Doan room (4th floor). This is where we traditionally hold our officer elections for Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary, discuss any pertinent issues related to our interest group, and brainstorm potential presentations for the next years convention. I ask you to please consider running to serve as an officer in the interest group for the upcoming year. The voices of community college faculty are a necessary part of CSCA as we advocate for the variety of students that are a part of our courses and our institutions. The time commitment is reasonable and the benefit is good. If you have questions about serving, please feel free to catch me and ask. I will be happy to talk your ear off about it.
Well, that just about covers it for now. There is still plenty left to do before next Wednesday rolls around. Im looking forward to seeing each of you next week at the convention. In the meantime, I hope that your spring continues to proceed smoothly and that your travels are safe on your way to Cleveland!
Best,
Jacob
