CSCA 2013 Convention - Communication Education Interest Group Reminders

Hello, Communication Education Interest Group members! Hope everyone’s Spring semester/term is off to a great start. I wanted to remind you remind folks to preregister for the conference (preregistration is due March 13th) and make hotel arrangements. In addition, I want to highlight a few important items of interest for this year’s conference in KC. Our business meeting will be Friday, April 5th in Lido from 2:30 – 3:45 pm.

One panel I would like to specifically note is a spotlight panel sponsored by our division which will occur on Friday from 4:00-5:15pm in Lido following our business meeting. This spotlight panel will focus on the unique nature of instructional (pedagogical) communication and relationships, and how relationships and communication in the instructional context differ from relationships and communication in other contexts (interpersonal, family, organizational etc.).  This spotlight panel will include noted instructional scholars Jo Sprague (making a special guest appearance at CSCA for this panel), Scott Myers, Scott Titsworth, Paul Schrodt, and myself.

In addition, I invite you to attend our top paper panel in the same room from 11:00am – 12:15 pm earlier on Friday. The top panel for the division will be held later in the week on Saturday in Lido from 3:30 – 4:45 pm.
