CSCA 2013 Convention - GIFT Reminders

Hello,
I hope your spring semesters are progressing well and that you've all made plans to attend CSCA's 2013 Conference.

I'm writing to provide you with an update regarding GIFT programming as well as a brief reminder for presenters.

GIFT Programming
Chad Edwards awarded us five sessions this year! Plan on attending these sessions to learn about some inventive ways to teach communication concepts:

THURSDAY, APRIL 4
9:30-10:45 AM           Truman B
2:00-3:15 PM             Truman B

FRIDAY, APRIL 5
8:00-9:15 AM            Truman B
11:00 AM-12:15 PM   Truman B

SATURDAY, APRIL 6
9:30-10:45 AM         Truman

Also, don't forget to attend our business meeting. The meeting is scheduled from 8:00-9:15AM in Salon 3 Wilson. I know it's difficult to wake up for an 8 AM interest group meeting, but at least you'll be ready to attend the G.I.F.T. session that immediately follows!

I'd like to list three reminders for our presenters:

  1. Be sure to bring at least 50 copies of your G.I.F.T. submission with you (I always bring 100 just to be safe!)
  2. Be sure to time your presentation (8 minute limit) and rehearse your presentation since you'll be delivering it several times.
  3. Be sure to take note of the number you're listed as in the program since that number identifies the table where you will be presenting (e.g., Sarah Wilson is listed as #5, this means she'll be presenting at Table 5).

Finally, I won't be able to join us at this year's convention since I'll be participating in Valdosta State University's inauguration of its ninth president--my husband. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Diana Tucker and Nancy Curtin for all of their help with this process as well as all of you who submitted your work. I'm sorry to miss the presentation of your work, but I've had the pleasure of reading your submissions.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at: dcharlesworth@valdosta.edu

I hope you all enjoy Kansas City and have a wonderful conference!
