Dearest performance studies and theatre colleagues,
This is a final, friendly reminder that all submissions for papers, panels, performances, and award nominations for the CSCA annual conference are due on Oct. 3rd. The conference will be held in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin on April 15-19, 2015. Our division, which always features an eclectic mix of innovative and evocative work, is well suited to explore this year’s theme of “Convergence.” With your help, our program will bring together the diversity of methods, topics, scholarship, cultures, and institutions that make performance studies and theatre such an important area of study. See the full call below.
I also want to promote an exciting event that will take place during this year’s conference that is likely to be of interest to members of our division. On Friday evening of the conference there will be a reception at the Overture Center for the Arts, which will be immediately followed by a performance of The Second City comedy troupe. Having seen several of The Second City’s performances in the past, I can say that this evening is sure to be full of fun and laughter.
Lastly, Lastly, I would like to encourage nominations for the CSCA Outstanding Scholar in Performance Studies and Theatre Award given to scholars who have made a significant contribution to performance studies and theatre scholarship. Please consider nominating a scholar we should honor. The due date for nominations is Friday, October 3rd, 2014.
So, send us that paper you’ve been wanting others to read. Gather your esteemed colleagues for that panel you’ve always wanted to see. Submit your performance script or a performance panel proposal, and we will see you in Madison!
