CSCA 2014 Election Results

Please join me in congratulating Blair Thompson of Western Kentucky University who was elected as our new Second Vice President. Also join me in congratulating Donna Pawlowski of Bemidji State University who was elected as our organization’s incoming Member at Large.

Dr. Thompson brings a wealth of leadership experience to his role. His leadership experiences include serving as Basic Course Director and Undergraduate Curriculum Chair at WKU, chairing CSCA’s Communication Education and Basic Course Interest Groups, and serving on the Cooper Award Committee. He was also recently elected to the NCA Instructional Development Division Vice-Chair. This background will serve him well as he begins the CSCA presidential rotation.

Dr. Pawlowski has a rich leadership involvement that will make her an excellent Member at Large for CSCA. As a Life Member, she has been active in various interest groups, including charter membership in the Interpersonal & Small Group and Health Communication Interest Groups. She received one of the Outstanding New Teacher Awards in 1999 and has presented at or planned various pre-conferences. She also has been a strong supporter of the CSCA Undergraduate Honors Conference. These experiences, combined with over 27 years of involvement with the association, will allow her to represent members well.

With such brilliant new leadership, our association is certainly in capable hands. Many thanks to those who also offered up their services for this year’s ballot. Thanks also to the nominating committee whose successful recruitment of excellent candidates made this election a tough choice for many members.

Sincerely,

Jimmie Manning
CSCA Executive Director
