Assistant Professor of Communication

The Department of Communication at the University of Memphis seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor beginning in August 2017 with a specialization in rhetoric and public address, women’s/gender studies, and rhetorical theory and criticism. PhD in communication is required. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda; demonstrated excellence in teaching; interest in interdisciplinary teaching and research; willingness and ability to advise MA and PhD students across the different foci of the department and to teach courses in both face-to-face and online formats.

The Department of Communication offers BA, MA, and PhD degrees, with doctoral specializations in the areas of rhetoric and media studies, and health and relational communication.
