2016 Call for Papers

2nd Call for Papers

KENNETH BURKE INTEREST GROUP

107th Annual Convention Eastern Communication Association

“[R]evolution”

Baltimore, MD

Hyatt Regency Baltimore

March 30 - April 3, 2016

Submission Deadline: Thursday, October 15, 2015

The Kenneth Burke Interest Group invites papers, program proposals, and roundtable discussions for the 107th Annual ECA Convention that will be held from March 30 - April 3, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore, Maryland.

The convention theme, “[R]evolution,” promises great opportunities for us to participate in meaningful, scholarly consideration of Burke’s work and the role of Burkean scholarship over time. Program proposals might focus on the interplay of discourses of social stability and social change, cyclical vs. linear ways of viewing the world, or Burke as a revolutionary or evolutionary theorist or critic. Programs of interest to multiple groups can be submitted for co-sponsorship, and are encouraged; as are creative and interactive formats.

General information about the convention and the 2016 Conference can be found at http://www.ecasite.org/aws/ECA/pt/sp/p_convention_main .

All submissions must be sent via e-mail, with attachment(s) in Word format, to the 2016 Program Planner by October 15, 2015. Please include “KB Division ECA Submission” in all email subject headings. Any questions, programming suggestions, and ideas concerning the Kenneth Burke Interest Group are welcome. Direct submissions and inquiries to:

Dr. Jean Costanza Miller, The George Washington University, jcmiller@gwu.edu
