We are pleased to invite you to attend and present at the 6th annual James C. McCroskey and Virginia P. Richmond Undergraduate Scholars Conference (USC) to be held in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, Friday, April 1st and Saturday, April 2, 2016 within the Eastern Communication Association’s 107th annual convention. The USC will center on the ECA convention theme, [R]evolution, which will be examining the rapidly changing landscape of the communication discipline.

The USC conference will feature some of the best research from undergraduate communication students. All submissions will be blind and peer-reviewed.

STUDENTS: Would you like to meet students and faculty from other schools who share your interest in communication? Would you like the opportunity to add more depth to your resume or graduate school application? Consider submitting your work to this conference. See several submission options below.

FACULTY: Please share this opportunity with your students. Note the deadline is: December 19th, 2015. Also, consider being a reviewer, chair or respondent. Submit your information HERE.

*NOTE: All submissions must include a faculty sponsor.

Submission Options (students may have up to two submissions):

  • Competitive Paper Presentations-This is recommended for finished papers of no more than 20 pages. These submissions will be formal presentations where the authors explain their research in a 10 minute oral presentation. In this presentation format, 3 or 4 papers will be presented together containing a general theme that links the papers together. Furthermore, these presentations will be followed by a response from a top-scholar in the field of communication.
  • Panel Discussions-This is recommended for topics/issues that adopt a timely communication issue or convention theme where discussion is more appropriate by several authors (preferable from different institutions).
  • Poster Presentations-This is recommended for research in progress seeking input or for projects that would benefit from a visual display.

Come and be part of the [R]evolution!
