Call For Papers 2007
ECA Nonverbal Communication
CALL FOR PAPERS
2007 Convention – Providence, Rhode Island
The 98th annual convention of the Eastern Communication Association will be held from April 27 – April 30, 2007 at The Westin in Providence Rhode Island. The convention theme this year is titled Intersections and invites us to consider how our scholarship makes a difference to those both within and outside the classroom walls.
The Nonverbal Communication interest group invites papers or panels that focus on nonverbal communication. Paper submissions should include a detachable title page that includes the title of the paper, author(s), affiliations, and the contact person's mailing address, email, and telephone number. The second page should include a one-page or less abstract. Please indicate "debut" if the author has not presented previously at a regional, national, or international convention. Indicate "student" if the author wishes to be recognized as a student.
Panel proposals should include a thematic title for the program, names of a chair and respondents (if any), names, addresses (mailing and email), telephone numbers, and institutional affiliations of all participants, titles and abstracts for each paper or presentation, program copy (a 75 word description) as it will appear in the final program, and rationale for the panel.
To ensure that all presenters fulfill the financial responsibilities that accompany convention participation, all submissions should include the following statement: In submitting the attached paper or proposal, I/we recognize that this submission is considered a professional responsibility. I/We agree to present this panel or paper if it is programmed. I/We further recognize that all who attend and present at ECA's annual convention must register and pay required fees.
Please submit four copies of the paper/panel to me at the address below. Submissions must be received by October 15, 2006. Electronic submissions will not be accepted. I strongly encourage you to support the Nonverbal Communication Interest Group by submitting papers and panels as well as by attending presentations and our business meeting. Send all materials to:
