Call for Papers 2008
ECA, Political Communication Interest Group, Call for Papers 2008
The Political Communication Interest Group is requesting paper and panel submissions for the 99th annual meeting of the Eastern Communication Association in Pittsburgh, PA from April 30 –May 4, 2008. Submissions of papers and panels covering a wide range of political concepts, theories, and methodologies are welcome.
The theme of the 2008 conference is “Making a Difference.” Much like how Pittsburgh connects the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio Rivers, this theme brings together three important areas of our discipline – scholarship, teaching, and service; challenging us to search for ways to connect with others and consider new paths and future directions for our research.
The 2008 convention will include spotlights on scholarship programs, short courses, poster sessions, workshops, roundtables, and traditional panel formats. For additional information about the convention, please refer to the ECA website at http://www.ecasite.org./
All program/panel proposals and completed papers must be received by October 15, 2007 (see submission guidelines below). Political Communication Interest Group submissions should be sent via e-mail (with an attachment in MS Word format). Please send Word documents files without properties to ensure anonymity in the peer review process.
Submissions should be sent electronically to the 2008 Political Communication Interest Group Program Planner, John Spinda (jspinda@kent.edu).
Submission GuidelinesSubmissions of Completed Papers Should Include:
- A detachable title page with the title of the paper and the author’s affiliation, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- The word “DEBUT” marked on all papers written by authors who have not presented previously at a regional or national convention.
- A one-page abstract on the second page.
- A statement of professional responsibility on the second page (see below).
