ECA 2015 Convention - Intercultural Communication Interest Group - Call for Submissions
**CALL FOR PAPERS**
INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION INTEREST GROUP
106th Annual ECA Convention
The Sheraton Society Hill
April 22-26, 2015
Submission Deadline: October 15, 2014
The Intercultural Communication Interest Group is seeking paper and program submissions for ECA’s Annual Convention to be held at The Sheraton Society Hill located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 22-26, 2015. The convention theme is “Deliberation: Philadelphia.” To mark the historical significance of Philadelphia as a place that dates back to our first public deliberations, the 2015 conference strives to honor the spirit of launching forth ideas into a public space for deliberative consideration.
Given this year’s conference theme, the Intercultural Communication Interest Group encourages submissions that explore public consideration of ideas and/or debate the merit and direction of intercultural communication scholarship and pedagogy. Papers, interactive panels, and audience-drawing programs are especially encouraged, but not limited to: Critical Intercultural Communication, Critical Pedagogy and Social Justice, Race and Intercultural Communication, Whiteness and Culture, Queer Intercultural Communication, Intercultural Relationship Communication, Intercultural Praxis and Nonprofit Organizing, Identity and Subjectivity, Intercultural Dialogue, Intercultural Communication and Deliberative Exercises, and Transnationalism and Immigration.
All submissions must be made electronically and received by October 15, 2014. Coinciding with the conference theme, the Intercultural Communication Interest Group highly desires submissions for Workshops, Round Table Discussions, Symposiums, Debates and Open Forums.
Individual Paper Submissions
Individual papers are completed papers that report original research, provide an extensive literature review or state of the art, or showcase some other form of scholarship.
Individual Paper Submission Guidelines:
*Papers that are to be considered will be no more than 25 pages (excluding title page, abstract, references, and appendices) and comply with the guidelines set forth in APA 6th edition.

* The second file should include the completed paper beginning with a one-page abstract. All author-identifiers (excluding previous scholarly works cited in the paper and listed on the reference page) should be removed from this file.
We highly encourage submissions for a variety of programs including papers’ panels, round tables, debates, open forum, workshop, and symposia. Feel free to contact the program planner with any ideas before you submit; we are happy to help with arrangements or contact potential participants. Kindly find program descriptions below.
