FPDA Announces the Carl E. Poling Memorial Scholarship
Carl Edwin Poling, a long-time fluid power professional, passed away in 2011 at the age of 85.
Carl was dedicated to the fluid power industry and was active in the FPDA, the FPEF and the Fluid Power Society. He never missed the opportunity to attend meetings and share knowledge with his fellow distributors, and he passed on the value of that experience to his junior executives.
Carl’s family designated that any donations to FPDA in his memory be directed for educational purposes. FPDA’s Value Task Force and Board of Directors have determined that up to eight Poling Scholarships will be awarded annually to selected candidates for the FPDA Motion + Control Sales Professional Certification Program (M+CSP), valued at $249 each. The criteria are set as:
- Applicant must be an employee in good standing of an FPDA Regular (Distributor) Member.
- Applicant will provide a letter of recommendation from a company principal.
- Applicant will provide a brief letter detailing his/her desire to earn the M+CSP designation.
- If accepted, applicant will prepare for and take the M+CSP exam within four months of acceptance.
Completed application criteria will be reviewed by FPDA’s headquarters office as received. Applicants will be notified of acceptance within three weeks of application receipt. See the Poling Scholarship Application Form.
