L.E.K. Consulting Seeks Individuals to Help with Research of Fluid Power & Motion Control Products in U.S. & Canada

FPDA has been contacted by Bill Brinkman of L.E.K. Consulting who is seeking individuals who are willing to speak with them to assist with their research of the market and competitive landscape for the distribution of fluid power and motion control products in the U.S. and Canada.

Here is Brinkman's request:

My name is Bill Brinkman, and I am contacting you on behalf of L.E.K. Consulting (www.lek.com), a global market research and consulting firm.

We are currently researching the market and competitive landscape for the distribution of fluid power and motion control products in the US and Canada. We are seeking to understand the distribution of these products in both industrial (equipment in indoor plants) and mobile applications, for use in a range of industries.

In our research, we would like to speak with individuals who (either in their current or recent jobs):

1. Are/were directly involved in or familiar with procuring or manufacturing either of the following equipment at a company-wide level either in an indoor plant or mobile setting?

• Pneumatics (e.g. cylinders, valves) for use in industrial and mobile applications
• Hydraulics (e.g. piston pumps, digital joystick controls, control valves)
• Fluid processes (e.g. pre-filtration, micro-filtration, separators)
• Service and repair services (for any of the products listed above)

2. Are/were employed by a company that purchases or sells the above types of products from/to distributors?

3. Are able to discuss in detail the selection criteria for choosing distributors of these products, as well as discuss and evaluate how the distributors compare to competitors on these criteria?

If you are able to meet the above criteria, we would like to set up a 30-45 minute telephone interview with you between Monday, August 11 and Monday, August 18. We are happy to offer you a prorated honorarium of $200 per hour in compensation for your time and expertise, which is payable either to you or the charity of your choice.
