HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES

The Ohio Health Information Partnership said Ohio leads the nation in doctors who have committed to use electronic health records.

Judge Timothy Horton, a Franklin County judge, issued a preliminary injunction this week that continues to prevent the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) from implementing new rules that make changes to the state's Ryan White program, saying the state failed to hold a public hearing on the HIV-AIDS program as required by law. He had earlier issued a temporary restraining order preventing the rules from taking effect.

The federal government took some pressure off states this week on setting up health insurance exchanges under the Affordable Care Act. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services delayed from Dec. 30 until June 29 the deadline to apply for planning grants.
