Clinical Nurse Manager - Palliative Care Survivorship

The James is a 200-bed National Cancer Institute-affiliated hospital as well as a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.  We are attached to The Ohio State University Medical Center, an 1100-bed comprehensive Academic Medical Center and are consistently ranked in US News and World Report’s Best Hospitals and Columbus Business First’s Best Places to Work.  

Work is well underway for the 2014 opening of our new $1.1 billion cancer tower in addition to new outpatient sites. This position will function as the Nurse Manager, overseeing daily operations of the Center for Palliative Care and Survivorship Exam Clinic. The manager collaborates closely with medical staff, other medical center departments and the division of nursing in the coordination and continuity of patient care.

The Nurse Manager interviews and selects personnel, evaluates and insures the appropriateness of staffing, oversees process improvement activities, ensures compliance with all regulatory standards, participates in budget preparation, and supports research activities. We are located in Columbus, a big diverse city with a smaller Midwestern feel. The metropolitan area is home to 1.8 million residents and has been recently recognized by many national media outlets. Education and Experience

Baccalaureate degree in nursing required.  Masters degree in Nursing or related field is required.  Current Ohio license as a Registered Nurse.  Prior demonstration of leadership and management skills.
