Qualifications: BSN, current Michigan RN license. Previous radiation, oncology, or cancer management experience preferred.

Description:  Full time management exempt Shift: Weekdays Benefits: Henry Ford full time management benefit package OVERVIEW: Henry Ford Health System's Josephine Ford Cancer Center - Downriver offers specialty programs designed to fit the clinical, care giving and spiritual needs of Henry Ford Health System cancer patients and their families residing in Downriver communities. Spends 70% of time in department supervision and 30% with direct patient care. Supervises 8 direct reports. Budget responsibility of approximately $500K. Serves as liaison between the patient, staff and Oncology physician, assuring the patient’s rights to appropriate therapy, interprets and executes the doctor’s orders, and ensures that the patients are treated with dignity, respect and ensures consideration is given to individual needs. Promotes and maintains a harmonious, efficient intra-department relationship by coordinating staff and patient flow. Responsible for planning time schedules, nurse and medical assistant evaluations and coordinates personnel and ancillary lab services. Documents attendance, discipline and employee evaluations, each performed in a timely fashion and filed appropriately. Assists staff physicians with implementation of medical plans of care as needed. Engages in patient teaching. Monitors staffing levels quarterly. Recommends increases/decreases based on staffing model. Monitors monthly inventory. Recommends adjustment of inventory levels based on usage and anticipated treatment and patient increases/decreases. Participates in preparation of annual budget; specifically activity and staffing levels and capital equipment needs. Participates in all appropriate administrative meetings. Collaborates regularly with other JFCC-Downriver staff and other HFHS JFCC healthcare professionals to identify patient needs, prioritize interventions, develop and implement strategies and programs as needed.
