NAHAD Welcomes Manufacturer Reps as Members

NAHAD members recently approved a recommendation by the board of directors to add eligible Manufacturer Representatives as NAHAD members.

This change marks the first time in NAHAD’s thirty-year history that manufacturer reps will be recognized as independent members and afforded the opportunity to take advantage of the association’s membership benefits. Until recently, reps were only allowed to participate at the annual NAHAD Convention, as designees of attending member manufacturers.

A key element of the new Manufacturer Rep membership category is that membership will be afforded to individuals, unlike the current NAHAD Distributor, Manufacturer, Associate and Affiliate company memberships. As such, applicants must meet specific requirements, as outlined in Article IV of the NAHAD Bylaws. Manufacturer Rep member applicants must:

1. Earn each year 50% or more of their annual aggregate revenues from commissions on sales in a defined geographic or market territory from NAHAD Member Manufacturers; and,
2. Be sponsored by two (2) NAHAD Manufacturer Members and two (2) NAHAD Distributor Members, who shall certify that the applicant possesses the highest qualities of professionalism, integrity and industry knowledge; and,
3. Commit to attending the NAHAD Annual Convention as a registrant at least every other year.

Beginning on October 27, eligible candidates may apply for membership online in the Join section of the NAHAD web site, www.NAHAD.org.
