NAHAD Board Updates

The NAHAD Board of Directors concluded its annual mid-year meeting in late September at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, site of next year’s Annual Convention.

In addition to previewing the 2015 convention venue, meeting spaces, exhibit hall, dining options and golf opportunities, the board entertained reports and recommendations from the various committees and task groups, including the following updates:

1. Nominations for positions on the NAHAD Board of Directors are now open - members may nominate themselves, or other eligible members, by using the online Nomination Form.
2. The NAHAD Bylaws were recently amended by member balloting, with the new membership category of Manufacturer Representative.
3. The NAHAD Hose Safety Institute is nearly ready to roll out the five new online Fabrication Guidelines and exams.
4. Members are being asked to submit employee job descriptions to the Education Committee for inclusion in the new Employee Development Roadmap, now under construction.
5. Several NAHAD members have joined in support of the Industrial Careers Pathway ICP) program, communicating the tremendous job opportunities available in distribution to students nationwide.
6. The new Distributor Performance Dashboards program will enter a Beta testing phase in the next several weeks, with the expected roll out of the new initiative in early 2015.

NAHAD’s 2015 Annual Convention will be held on April 23 – 27 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, South Beach, Florida.
