Welcome to NAHAD
Those opposed to a prominent role for fossil fuels in America's energy portfolio are concentrating their focus on stopping pipeline projects as a primary way to strangle production and "keep it in the ground".
Pipelines are essential to both production and consumption of natural gas and petroleum. They are the safest and most cost-effective method of transport. Without adequate pipeline capacity, neither natural gas nor petroleum liquids can be produced and delivered economically. This is because either (1) the higher cost of delivery by other means makes them currently uncompetitive, or (2) the lack of takeaway capacity drives the oversupplied local market price beneath the cost of production. In either case, new wells are not developed.
Two things are clear for suppliers of construction, equipment, materials and services to energy operations. First, without new pipeline capacity, business driven by production from new wells in the Appalachian Basin and the Bakken will be limited under current price levels. Second, opposition presents major risk to otherwise tremendous supply opportunities for construction and operation of proposed new pipeline projects themselves.

NAHAD’s Hose Safety Institute recently introduced the Hose Design Factors Whitepaper, the third in a series of whitepapers addressing hose assembly safety.
The Hose Design Factors Whitepaper focuses on recommended best practices regarding hose design, subsequent hose labelling, and implications for end user safety. Topics addressed include:
- Definition of Hose Design Factors, what they mean, and implications for fabricators and end users of hose assemblies
- Examples and test data illustrating the implications of hose design factors on advertised hose working pressures
- List of guidelines for manufacturer hose labelling and associated documentation
- A list of definitions to clearly spell out what is meant by different terms or labels
In an effort to give back, NAHAD launched a new initiative to support a cause connected to the hose industry: clean water. Working with charity: water, a nonprofit organization that brings clean water to millions worldwide, NAHAD has committed to raising $10,000 to sponsor a water project in a developing country. Join with us today and help us reach our goal.
The stunning Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs was the setting for NAHAD's 2016 Convention on April 30 through May 4, which attracted nearly 1,000 members and guests from around the world for four days of education, networking, business development and recreation. The largest ever Showcase of Hose Solutions exhibit program, with 170 booths, displayed the latest products and services from nearly 150 suppliers.
NAHAD's 33rd Annual Convention will be held at the J W Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio on April 2 through 6, 2017.
