Production Director

WCNC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Production Director to lead the Newscast and Studio Technicians. The Director will at times direct in a punch and call environment for: live newscasts, taped webcasts, cut-ins, local programs and commercial projects. Effective interaction with multiple departments is critical to success. Strong leadership and organizational skills are a must.

Requirements: Must have a strong working knowledge of studio and location equipment including, but not limited to: studio lighting equipment, teleprompter, switcher and remote camera. Strong knowledge of ENPS Servers, BitCentral Servers, Miranda Vertigo, are a plus. Non-linear editing and IT skills are essential. A minimum 5 years of live television directing in a medium to large market required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills required, with an emphasis on working as a team with producers. We put a premium on personal integrity, teamwork, accountability, problem solving, a strong work ethic and winning. Must be willing to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays.
