Assignment Editor/DJ

Be on the forefront of 21st Century reporting as an assignment editor with the new FOX Owned and Operated TV station in Charlotte, NC. Monitor daily news activity in our 22-county DMA. Work with our Managing Editor to make sure our news flow is current and constant. Communicate with our Digital Journalists in the field, helping them manage their work and gather information. Assist our web and social media team in pushing out that information on various platforms. The position requires researching, developing and gathering news leads and stories for newscasts, web and social.
Must be able to quickly adapt and respond to rapidly changing and breaking news stories. Writing skills are essential as this position is required to write and publish stories on the station’s website and post under our brand on social media outlets. Candidate must be able to prioritize and work under daily deadline pressure.
Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university preferred. Must have a minimum of two years experience in a commercial newsroom. Previous assignment desk and nonlinear editing experience preferred. Experience shooting news video with either an ENG camera, iPad or iPhone is a plus.
