Sports Director
WXII-TV
WXII 12 Digital Media, the Hearst Television NBC affiliate in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point market, has an immediate opening for full-time Sports Director.
Job Responsibilities: • Anchor, and Produce Monday-Friday 6 pm, 10 pm & 11 pm sports segments. • Anchor and Produce seasonal Friday night Football and Basketball shows. • Anchor weekend sports segments as needed. • Produce and report additional sports and news content as assigned. • Edit video on Adobe Premier and other non-linear platforms. • Participate in editorial meetings and contribute fresh ideas for newscasts, sweeps and special projects • Be well versed in local, national and international sports, with special attention to high school athletics, ACC and other conference sports, NASCAR, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc. • Be able to work under extreme deadline pressure and respond to late changes • Contribute both written and video content to our digital products, including wxii12.com and our social media sites • Be available for unscheduled assignments on mornings, nights, weekends and holidays • Represent WXII at public events
Experience Requirements: • Prior sports anchoring and reporting experience
Education: • College degree preferred
