Sports Anchor/Digital Journalist
Throw out your concept of what it means to be a TV sports reporter and anchor. The FOX O&O in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a hard-charging Digital Journalist (DJ) who can also anchor our sportscasts. You will be able to shoot, write and edit your own stories and set up your own live remotes. Charlotte is a sports-centric city. You will know how to cover the NFL Panthers, NASCAR, ACC, the NBA Hornets and minor league baseball and hockey teams. We are looking for 21st Century information gurus who know how to cover stories and disseminate them over multiple platforms. You’ll know how to mine social media for facts and tips -- and how to break sports stories by networking with coaches, players, agents and team owners. You are a self-starting enterprising journalist with a natural curiosity. You know how to communicate in a casual and trustworthy way. If you are up for an incredible challenge with the freedom to do something different, then we are looking for you.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with emphasis on journalism and/or communications.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of sports reporting for a broadcast news organization. Anchoring experience required.
