WCTI-TV NewsChannel 12 the ABC-TV affiliate, based in New Bern, North Carolina, has an immediate opening for an Assistant News Director. WCTI-TV supplies services to Esteem Broadcasting and WFXI-TV, WYDO-TV (FOX) pursuant to a Shared Services Agreement.
NewsChannel 12 is owned by Bonten Media Group Inc., a company rooted in its "Culture of Excellence." The principles of the "Culture of Excellence" include: meeting our commitments, being the best and doing it right. WCTI-TV is ranked either #1 or #2 in every newscast.
The Assistant News Director works closely with the news staff and Executive Producer and on a daily basis guides reporters in the development of their stories, manages the assignment desk, proof-reads scripts, provides content support on all of our digital platforms and offers feedback to the staff.
The Assistant News Director is a brand manager for our station's key images: "Getting the Facts Right" and "Alerting You to Severe Weather Danger," the top news and weather images in our market. The Assistant News Director assists the News Director in building our annual strategic plan and must be committed to applying our images to TV, web, mobile and social media.

Experience:
Our candidate will have at least three years of experience managing and/or producing in a newsroom. |
Requirements:
The Assistant News Director must be aggressive at winning with content superiority on all platforms. |
