North Carolina Public Radio - WUNC FM Position DEPUTY/Finance

North Carolina Public Radio WUNC- in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks a highly experienced financial and HR Officer to serve as its new Deputy/Finance Director. The Deputy/Finance Director is a senior management position and reports to the President and General Manager. The position serves as the station’s Chief Financial Officer, which includes coordination and management of its $8 Million budget (revenues and expenditures), financial reporting, grant administration, and compliance (FCC and University). The Finance/Deputy Director serves as the station’s liaison with various university offices coordinating functions such as insurance, unrelated business income, payroll, budget and purchasing. The position supervises a staff who handle gift processing, gift deposits, corporate underwriting accounts receivable, expenditures and audit preparations. The Finance/Deputy director prepares financial reports for its board of directors, station management, Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s Annual Financial Report, University departments and ad hoc requests. The position serves as the department’s EEO and HR Officer, ensuring the station follows correct protocol on UNC and FCC employment policies and practices. HR duties include appointments, employee actions, evaluations, position management, benefit administration, employee and management relations, and FCC EEO reporting. WUNC is an award winning public broadcaster and an NPR member station, reaching more than 300-thousand weekly listeners. Salary and benefits are competitive for large-market public stations. The Triangle region of North Carolina consistently ranks among the best places to live in the U.S. Minimum requirements are a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), with three years relevant experience. Candidates should possess a demonstrated ability in management, budgeting, finance and HR. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in public broadcasting. Other considerations helpful to the position are experience with UNC’s People Soft system and auditing/reporting.
