WFMY-Greensboro, TEGNA’s CBS affiliate in the Greensboro – High Point – Winston-Salem market, is searching for a creative and effective marketing leader with vision, energy and multi-platform skills.  Our Marketing Director will lead idea creation through development, presentation and audience engagement.  She/he will further advance our brand and mission via creative execution in line with our strategic plan.  Our Marketing Director will weave on-air, digital and social marketing to reach targeted goals and audiences.  “Risk” is encouraged at WFMY News 2, a true team atmosphere where station managers, news directors, producers, anchors, MSJs, directors, photographers and leaders are developed for our station and others in our company.  It is assumed our Marketing Director will possess high character, journalistic understanding, and expertise in digital/social media with relevant experience, judgment and drive.  She/he will report to the President & General Manager.

 Responsibilities

• Strategically, creatively lead and manage Marketing Department.

• Think boldly as chief brand officer. 

• Oversee marketing content, staff and daily execution.

• Push envelope of creativity in smart, sometimes uncomfortable, often rewarding manner.

• Partner with news director and digital/social content manager.

• Be urgent about achieving measured success.

• Work closely with news team to produce compelling and memorable marketing and brand messaging.

• Collaborate daily throughout station on marketing opportunities for web, social, mobile, and apps. 

• Foster an environment of creativity, innovation, teamwork and high ethical standards.

• Think strategically as an able communicator, collaborator, and community-minded station advocate in pursuit of multi-platform audiences and brand enhancement.

• Interact with all news and station managers to achieve goals, extending the WFMY News 2 brand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Proven track record of marketing experience and leadership.

• Clear, successful innovation, communication, and ability to grow brand and audience preference.

• Able to translate research and analytics into compelling multi-platform marketing.

• Ability to work under both deadline pressure and long-term strategy.

• Minimum three years of experience in media or related field, preferably as marketing manager.

• Leader of commitment to social media and digital platforms.

• Hands-on marketing experience in SEO, SEM, display, mobile and creative development tools.

• Strong ethical standards and integrity.

• Exceptional organizational skills suited for a fast-paced environment.
