The Digital Producer is responsible for creating content for all digital platforms along with developing and implementing a multi-screen strategy, including web, apps, and social sites that increase synergies between on-air and digital content.

 

Responsibilities: Managementof the station’s digital platforms including online, mobile and all emerging social media, to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and all others to come. Motivate, influence, train and develop a sense of urgency for station staff to advance social platforms and best practices in their daily course of work. Grow station’s digital department efforts, “owns the role”. Lead and contribute to the development of strategic and tactical digital media plans. Understand all measurement metrics including Facebook Insights, Omnivore, comScore, Google Analytics, Brightcove Video, Chartbeat, Twitter Counter, and all.

Requirements: College degree in journalism, marketing or mass communications.
In-depth knowledge and experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Metric tools and SEO best practices are required. Must be highly motivated, creative and aggressive in driving digital performance. Excellent writing, organization skills are required along with ability to aggregate daily/hourly trends to present at news meetings.
Must be a multitasker who can plan for special projects and major news events, including breaking news coverage.  Flexible schedule required, to include holidays and weekends. Knowledge of local television workflow, processes and systems is preferred. Strong video editing skills (experience using avid/final cut/premiere) preferred. Strong photo-editing skills (experience using Photoshop) preferred.
