WCNC-TV is hiring an IT Manager to manage the day-to-day hands-on maintenance of WCNC-TVs infrastructure. The IT Manager provides technical support for News, Sales and other content production operations in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate has a detail oriented approach and is able to effectively address a constantly changing group of station priorities and delegate appropriate responses.

 

Responsibilities: Work closely with the Director of Technology on the installation and maintenance of all IT equipment used in the organization’s multiple broadcast, online, and mobile content production
facilities. Including: station automation systems, master control and production systems, newsroom computer systems, industry-centric proprietary software solutions, non-linear edit systems, shared storage systems, and other equipment. Manage the day-to-day operations of the station’s IT environment. Submit capital budget recommendations and participate fully in the operating expense of the Technology department. Manage employees as it relates to IT projects. Manage all IT and Security Audit procedures.

Requirements: Degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a similar IT capacity. Prior experience with broadcast, video, video codecs and digital media is highly preferable Experience using Windows 7/8 and related software, Office 365, Active Directory user account maintenance
Experience using Avaya IP phones and configuration, iPhones/iPads, Wireless technologies and Aps
Experience using Cat 6 cabling techniques, Ability to use DOS and/or Linux command line utilities
Demonstrated tact and ability to interact well with people along with good written and verbal communication skills Ability to lift 50lbs
