TEGNA owned WCNC-TV has a great opportunity for a self-starter with a great attitude who can multi-task easily to join the team as a National Sales Assistant.  The position is responsible for processing and servicing National sales orders,
including inputting and revisions.  Providing clerical and administrative support to the Major Accounts
Manager and National Sales Rep firm.  Candidate should be dependable, organized, professional and capable of
multi-tasking and problem-solving.  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with Account Executive and clients by telephone.
  • Provide phone support for National Sales Manager.
  • Monitor daily logs and reconciles national sales orders with sales Reps and accounting department.
  • Research discrepancies for advertisers to clear for payment.
  • Manage paid programming.
  • Have cordial telephone etiquette to develop relationships.
  • Have working knowledge of Medicine for inputting and revision orders (training provided).
  • Provide some direct service to Advertising Agency buyers, including the clearance of schedules and makegood offers.
  • Input data to maintain pending national business in Wideorbit system, while providing Major Accounts Manager and/or clients a variety of weekly/daily Wide Orbit reports.
  • Provide back-up support to traffic coordinator.
  • Assist with Inventory Management.
  • Additional administrative or clerical duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • One to two years business experience with significant exposure to assisting clients or customers in a sales environment.  Broadcast experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of sales concepts and sales software also a benefit.
  • Demonstrated PC skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem solving ability.
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills.
  • Must be detailed and multi-task oriented while maintaining excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Sense of urgency in fast-paced position.
