WLOS, in beautiful Asheville, NC, has an opening for a Digital Content Producer. If you thrive in a high energy environment, pride yourself on being on top of the latest news and trending stories, this is the job for you! In this role, you will be responsible for posting compelling and breaking news stories on multiple screens with accuracy and efficiency. You will work with others in the newsroom to make sure our digital approach works in concert with our on air product.

Required Skills:
- Solid sense of what works on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
- Ability to tell the story with words and pictures
- Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must
- Understand how to format stories for different platforms in order to give the viewer the best experience and maximize our digital assets
- Solid news judgment
- Be a compelling and accurate writer
- Ability to multitask and manage time in order to maintain and update wlos.com and our social media assets
- Ability to communicate clearly and be a champion for digital media initiatives

Required Experience:
- Must have at least 2-3 years of previous web producing experience at a news website
- Journalism degree preferred
- Proficient with non-linear editing, photo editing software and newsroom systems such as iNews
- An understanding of AP Style is a plus
- Excellent spelling and grammar skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to write and edit content that tells a compelling story
- Ability to write clearly and ALWAYS be factually accurate
- Ability to maintain digital assets, archives and edit systems
