WLOS, in beautiful Asheville, NC, is looking for a take-charge reporter to help us continue to grow! We are seeking a motivated, energetic, creative, and aggressive reporter who can think and perform outside the box. The candidate should be able to develop story ideas and gather information for newscasts, have sound writing skills, a great work ethic, and a can-do attitude. The best person for this job will have excellent live shot skills and thrives on breaking stories.

This is a station that values visual and compelling storytelling with a highly skilled photography staff. We're looking for someone with sharp news judgment, excellent storytelling skills and the ability to work well with others. Demonstrated experience with active and visual live shots required. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Pitching story ideas
• Developing contacts and reporting daily
• Producing daily content on a variety of platforms including, internet, social networking sites and mobile phones, in addition to television

• Proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems
• Strong writing and copy editing skills are a must
• 2+ years of experience as a Reporter 
• Must be able to work well under deadline pressure
• Must also have excellent time management skills
• A minimum of two years reporting experience at a commercial TV station
