TEMPORARY (Broadcast & Emerging Media Technician (Adv.)

BROADCAST AND EMERGING MEDIA TECHNICIAN (Advanced) (Field Photographer/Editor) – Temporary Assignment - UNC-TV, RTP, NC seeks a video photographer/editor to work independently and as part of a team for the acquisition of video in the field to assemble long and short format video stories for statewide broadcast of UNC-TV locally produced programs.

 

Must have experience operating various kinds of ENG cameras, specifically HD and XDCam, and HDV, and various types of non-linear and linear editing systems. Must also have experience with setting and operating support field equipment such as lighting and audio equipment for single-unit field productions. Will also require experience in operating studio and control room equipment and requires experience with remote studio productions. Valid driver’s license required. This is a temporary position. Frequent night/weekend work and overnight travel required.

 

Demo reel of work will be required for candidates at interview. DVD preferred. 

 

The photographer/editor will work 40 hours per week from the time hired until August 30, 2013. This is a temporary position without benefits that will end on August 30, 2013.


Minimum requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience in a broadcast television and emerging media environment, or equivalent combination of training and experience. 


Prefer at least four years of broadcast television experience in single person news style and/or team-oriented documentary style productions and at least two years experience with non-linear editing systems. Also prefer experience with Final Cut Pro and in tape-less production environments, which incorporates knowledge of file transfers and multiple user server based asset management systems.


Hourly Range: $15 - $22 per hour based on experience.
