Job Summary
We are looking for a front-end developer who is a master of WordPress, lover of consistency and ability to
oversee the non-news content of our digital products. The position is responsible for general development and
updates of a highly-customized WordPress website as well as managing a staff that includes writers and
photographers/videographers. This position regularly collaborates with the other members of the Chapelboro
and WCHL team to launch various marketing and content initiatives.
This position is full-time with benefits, which is on-site at our Chapel Hill offices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ï‚· Master of HTML5 and CSS3
ï‚· Great with jQuery
ï‚· Knowledge of responsive design and development techniques and best practices
ï‚· Highly knowledgeable of WordPress and Wordpress Templates
ï‚· Design experience for website including new sections, logos, pages, ads, etc.
ï‚· Understanding of what makes great content and the ability to oversee and edit written and visual
content produced by our in-house staff and outside writers.
ï‚· Manage website Google ads/DFP, data to/from various sources and general site administration.
ï‚· Liaison to local community
ï‚· Work in a team environment supporting others and improving web practices.
ï‚· Develop and implement digital strategies
ï‚· Great communication skills.
Bonus points for:
ï‚· Knowledge of Sass (http://sass-lang.com/)
ï‚· Familiarity with creating custom WordPress plugins
