WFMY, in Greensboro, North Carolina, has an opening for a Broadcast Engineering – IT Technician. The job responsibilities include:
• Maintaining and repairing video and audio television production equipment in a studio environment
• Candidate should have a solid background in RF, video, audio, LAN/WAN systems, TCP/IP, computer configuration & software installation.
• Repairing video, audio and transmission equipment in ENG and SNG vehicles.
• Experience with troubleshooting newsroom computer systems and computer based non-linear editing.
• Basic PC and laptop repair and configuration.
• Knowledgeable in use of testing gear, other troubleshooting and measurement devices.
• Video, audio and network cabling, ATSC encoding, transport microwave streams and transmission systems.
• Should be capable of responding to technical questions, complaints, concerns and requests for information from talent, producers, technical staff and all employees.

The successful candidate must have an Associate Degree in broadcast technology, 
electronics, or computer networking or a high school diploma or GED with additional
vocational/technical training in electronics, broadcast engineering, communications, or
related field required. Experience in television broadcasting, electronics, or 
comparable education, training and experience which provides the knowledge and skills
necessary for this job. We seek someone who is a self-starter with technical and 
analytical skills to solve system technology issues. Must be available to work a flexible, on-call schedule including nights and weekends.
