CMG Charlotte has an immediate full-time opening for an Automation Specialist/Senior Master Control Operator. This individual will work with maintenance engineers and IT specialists to keep the automation system in optimal operating condition. They will stay on top of all automation issues and will keep track of all software and hardware problems and necessary software updates, etc. Experience with Harris Automation systems is preferred.

In addition, the individual will perform basic Master Control operational responsibilities. These duties include, but are not limited to, operating master control equipment in both automated and live/manual switching situations, camera shading, live shot and satellite tuning and airing informational crawls and squeezebacks. In addition, the operator will make program, operating, discrepancy and maintenance log entries in accordance with station and FCC standards. They will maintain current knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures and applicable FCC regulations.Additional responsibilities include ingesting commercials and promotional spots and transferring and databasing shows from electronic and linear sources. They will also perform other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate must be able to perform the above duties quickly and efficiently. They must be able to work well under pressure. They should have the ability to work well both independently as well as in a team environment. The individual must be able to communicate clearly and concisely. Schedule flexibility is required subject to the operational needs of CMG Charlotte; there must be a willingness to work all shifts, including holidays, as needed.

The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of master control experience and be fluent in television automation systems. SBE Certification is a plus.
