WBTV has an opening for an experienced, motivated, goal oriented, Chief Engineer. This position requires a strong working knowledge of a wide range of broadcast and content technology. He or she will report to the Director of Engineering and be a primary backup in his absence; comfortable in managing all technical and operational aspects of the Studio and Transmitter facilities. Good communication and interpersonal skills are paramount as this person will work closely with station and corporate management. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in broadcast engineering required. A technical Degree in an engineering or computer science discipline is preferred. Experience in UHF\IOT transmitters and traditional microwave links along with a good understanding of ENG\SNG technologies is a must. Proficient IT skills related to modern automation, encoding, and video play out systems along with a solid understanding of ATSC Transport Streams and related technology is desired. A certification by the Society of Broadcast Engineers is a plus.
