NCAB Introduces Association 2013 Station Awards Program

RALEIGH, NC, (June 25, 2013) – The North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB) announced at its Annual Convention in Greensboro, NC the winners of this year’s top station awards as determined by a distinguished panel of out of state media executives.

2013 TV AWARDS

WCNC-TV, Charlotte, NC received NCAB’s 2013 Outstanding Newscast Award.

WRAL-TV, Raleigh, NC received the 2013 Outstanding Hard News or Breaking Story Award.

WXII-TV12, Winston-Salem, NC has been awarded NCAB’s 2013 Outstanding Sports Story.

Blair Miller co-anchor of WSOC, Charlotte Channel 9 Eyewitness News is the 2013 recipient of NCAB’s Best News Anchor. 

2013 RADIO AWARDS

Radio Station of the Year

WBT-AM/FM, Charlotte, NC was the recipient of NCAB’s 2013 Radio Station of the Year Award in the large market category. 

WSFL-FM, New Bern, NC was awarded NCAB’s 2013 Radio Station of the Year Award in the medium market category.

WLHC-FM, Sanford, NC was presented NCAB’s 2013 Radio Station of the Year Award in the non-metro category. 

Radio Personality or Team of the Year

The Q-Morning Crew on WQDR-FM, Raleigh, NC was awarded NCAB’s 2013 Radio Team of the Year in the large market division.

Mick Galloway the host of The Short Bus with Mick on WXNR-FM, New Bern, NC was presented with NCAB’s 2013 Radio Personality of the Year Award in the medium market division. 

Ron Stutts of WCHL-FM, Chapel Hill, NC was named NCAB’s 2013 Personality of the Year in the small market division.
