Founded in 1947, The North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB) is widely recognized as one of the top associations for broadcasters in the nation in terms of legislative victories, education, services, benefits and legal assistance. NCAB was founded with the purpose of:
- Promoting closer cooperation and understanding between broadcast members.
- Providing members with current legal and legislative services.
- Helping broadcasters operate profitable and well-managed stations.
- Educating the public and businesses about the uses and values of broadcasting.

The North Carolina Association of Broadcasters Educational Foundation hosted a North Carolina Senatorial Debate between Senator Richard Burr (R) and Former NC House Representative Deborah Ross (D). Jonathan Karl, the chief White House correspondent for ABC News moderated. The Debate was held at UNC-TV Studios.
