NCCTA 2012 Legislator of the Year

NCCTA honored Senator Tom Apodaca during its recent Joint Summer Meeting with its Legislator of the Year Award. He represents District 98, Buncombe, Henderson and Polk Counties.

Senator Apodaca was elected to the North Carolina Senate in 2002 during his first campaign for public office. He was re-elected by his Western North Carolina constituents in 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010.

In addition to chairing the Senate Rules Committee, Senator Apodaca is co-chair of the Committee on Insurance, the Committee on Pensions & Retirement and Aging, and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education & Higher Education. He has been the recipient of several awards for his legislative work and is ranked as one of the most effective advocates for North Carolina businesses in the General Assembly.
