Veterans Career & Employment Issues: The Role of Career Development in Military to Civilian Transitions

On November 14, 2012, NCDA will present a webinar as part of celebrating National Career Development Day.


Dr. Stein and Mr. Miles will describe the need for a comprehensive approach to the career-related transitions facing returning veterans in settings that include the military Transition Assistance Programs, labor department (One-Stop) offices and colleges. They will summarize resources and information available to career development professionals interested in assisting veterans.

The webinar will introduce issues that will be developed further in presentations at the 2013 NCDA Conference in Boston.


Carmen T. Stein, Ph.D., LMHC is co-author of the upcoming NCDA monograph, Career Resources and Strategies for Achieving Success in Military to Civilian Transitions.


Robert A. Miles, M.S. & 6th year, NCC, chair of the NCDA Veterans Task Force retired from Gateway Community College (CT) where he counseled veterans and was VA certifying official for ten years. Both are veterans.
