Report Drug Shortages
Report Drug Shortages
The OAASC is working alongside the national ASCA to find a long-term solution for the drug shortage impacting ASCs. In the short term, there are resources currently available where ASCs can help raise awareness of the shortages.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which is responsible for tracking shortages and working with drug manufacturers to respond to the shortages, maintains a website where you can report shortages. If your ASC is experiencing problems obtaining necessary drugs, please file a report to the FDA.
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is also tracking which drugs are in short supply, as well as timelines for delivery of drugs and alternatives that can be used in place of hard-to-obtain drugs. You can find this information by clicking here.
