Assistant General Manager - Grain, Feed, & Hardware

CHS Member Co-op has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant General Manager – Grain, Feed & Hardware position in Central Ohio.

Position Overview:

The Assistant General Manager's responsibilities involve supervision, marketing and education, profitability and sales, reporting, inventory, service and dispatching, safety and maintenance, and other duties as assigned by the General Manager. The Assistant General Manager will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervision involves establishing and communicating department goals and results to employees, staffing the department and delegating the workload, actively supporting employee growth, and upholding cooperative policies.

• Staff and delegate workload to meet market requirements

• Update employees regularly on new product knowledge

• Identify in writing annual training needed for individual employees

• Discuss performance annually

• Complete and administer a yearly merit review with each employee following management approval

• Actively work to increase personal skills and knowledge

• Uphold all cooperative policies

• Ensure that facilities and equipment meet all federal, state, and OSHA regulations

• Inform all employees and customers of safe product handling

• Assist in developing and updating a regular maintenance schedule for all facilities and equipment

• Marketing and education involves developing and implementing an annual marketing plan, directing marketing activities

• Develop and implement an annual marketing plan and direct all marketing activities

• Establish and achieve product profitability and sales goals and ensure all items sold through the department are delivered in a timely fashion

• Ensure equipment in excellent operating condition

• Ensure all services provided assist in achieving department profitability

• Safety and Maintenance which involves maintaining property, facilities, and equipment

• Meet all federal, state and OSHA regulations

Basic Qualifications:

• 4 year degree in an Agriculture related program

• 6-10 years additional related job experience may substitute for education

• 5 years industry experience to include managing staff, developing & managing operating budgets, and overseeing multiple locations

•Experience in Sales – Feed & Hardware

• Operations on grain and a good understanding of logistics for grain

• Have at least 2 million grain storage experience

• Have the ability to multi task

• Manage and direct employees
