POSITION OVERVIEW

Energy Division: Vice President

DEPARTMENT: Energy

REPORTS TO: CEO & Works with current Vice President of Energy

LOCATION: Norwalk Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be reporting directly to the CEO, working in a co-position with the current VP of Energy until his 8/31/2016 retirement, but will have all direct reports of the current VP of Energy report to this new position once it is filled.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Energy Sales & Staff

a. Manage and oversee the total operations of the Sunrise Cooperative, Inc. Energy Division, to maintain and generate profitability in both the petroleum and propane departments. From a financial standpoint, this includes everything from the yearly annual budget to the overseeing of the monthly financial statements.

b. Help guide, direct and supervise the energy division staff members to achieve the goals of the energy division through operational efficiencies, sales programs, marketing, and excellent customer service.

c. Monitor the energy division employee group to be sure that they have the opportunity to be trained for their positions at a very high level, and to make sure this employee group is sufficient in number and quality to perform all the different jobs throughout the energy division. Must also make sure that the correct type and amount of equipment required to do their jobs is provided and maintained.

2. Regulatory – State & Local

a. Keep current on existing state and local requirements for the safe operation of the energy division’s business segments; petroleum and propane. Keep the company in compliance with regulations and also assist our customers in doing the same thing.

3. Marketing & Purchasing

a. To constantly monitor the energy division’s position with suppliers for continued and uninterrupted supply of the best quality fuel products available during all times of the year.

b. Must also make sure that the Co-op is purchasing their energy products at a very competitive price.

c. Monitor the retail prices for all energy division products. Determine if margins are where they need to be. Margins can be adjusted from time to time depending on current situations and market conditions; must be ready to act on those opportunities quickly.

d. Keep on the cutting edge of what is happening globally in order to better protect the Co-op from being blind-sided by such events that could result in allocation of product and or in addition to extremely high prices.

e. Must always be looking for new opportunities for growing the Sunrise energy business. Re-evaluate what we are currently doing and determine if we should continue the same way or make some kind of modification or quit doing something altogether. There are new opportunities out there; we just need to discover them somehow, some way.
