Agronomy Sales Specialist

CHS Aligned Solutions is partnering with a large member cooperative in Northwestern Ohio to fill an Agronomy Sales Specialist role due to a recent promotion.

Overview:

Seeking an Agronomy Sales Specialist who will focus their time on growing and building new and existing customers for seed and crop protection services. Approximately 70% of time will be spent doing on-farm calls and working with customers to best select the best choice for their fields.

Responsibilities:

• Create and recommend specific agronomy programs to targeted accounts with the goal of increasing agronomy business.

• Spend a majority of time in the country working with farmers to earn business.

• Utilize Seed, Precision Farming Technology, Finance and other marketing tools to grow market share.

• Understand the business functions of employee team and assist the team in improving the efficiency and profitability of the location(s) assigned.

• Coordinate with fertilizer applicators and tanks on the spreading, spraying and delivery of bulk fertilizer to assure the cost effective use of equipment.

• Establish and maintain effective public relations through customer education and the promotion of new products.

• Assure that federal and state regulations pertaining to chemicals and fertilizers are observed and adhered to.

• Work with patrons in a courteous and professional manner.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• 4 year degree in Agronomy, Ag Econ, Ag Business, Ag Ed, Ag engineering, Soil or Weed Science. (Related job experience may substitute for education)

• Minimum of three years of experience in Agronomy with a strong agronomy knowledge and experience agronomy sales internships may count toward this requirement.

• Demonstrate strong communication / persuasive / business skills.

• Must be a proven self-starter with a driven work ethic 2-5 years additional experience in the following areas:

-Agronomy/seed experience

-Scouting/intern experience

-Plant worker experience

-Agricultural background
